Jeremy Rifkin is a crook - as he preaches the idea of entropy-as-decay in a finite (Einsteinian) universe, and so is Walter Benjamin, that chess-chump in a dwarf machine. They are part of the problem, not the solution, being part of the Judaeo-Christian elites. But I'll have to finish the video first, lest
PC Principal intervene with complaints about me drawing Einstein into economics thru Cartmanesque outbursts.
And yes, he peddles the Big Bang entropy-decay prejudice here too - along with fanciful beliefs in free power from zero marginal cost. He thinks the internet will allow everyone to "produce their own solar and wind" power (42 mins). Total BS! "Energy flow through value chains", classic Rifkiin-speak, ignores the price of energy and the fact that small renewable-energy generators will go broke (due to market shrinkage from unemployment and low wages among the consumers) and be taken over by rent-seeking financial organizations which will grow by scooping up all these small renewable-energy companies. This is because the notion of
local energy production producing enough for
local needs is BS, meaning that larger-scale organization is required.
Here
Rifkin exhibits typical Jewish cultural prejudices - an overweening optimism combined with the ability to manipulate the chumps into believing the future will be ever better (and so securing
mob-rule i.e.
democratic support) without admitting that this will only be for the few, such as the very rich he described at the beginning, and whose wealth he dare not touch - because they pay him to spout his optimistic BS!
At 38 minutes he invokes Adam Smith's individual actions somehow leading, collectively, to a better future. The claim is BS since the new enterprises have no ability to sustain themselves since the profit-motive has ended with zero marginal cost.
Fall in wages and increased unemployment are ignored entirely where he extols driverless cars etc.
Methane from cows is nonsense - rice paddies produce even more methane; methane has a half-life of less than 10 years in the atmosphere, unlike CO2. His vegetarianism is lies and deceit, as well as pandering to Peter Singer's animal liberationism.
He ignores Rosa Luxemburg's discovery that when the whole world is capitalist (as is the case today) there is no source for profit, since the ultimate source for capitalist profit is the non-capitalist world, the latter now being reduced to the homeless and the destitute as capitalism monopolizes the remaining land (and sea) worldwide. Instead he babbles about a shared economy where a toy passes from one child to the next (presumably then just an electronic toy on a video screen since real toys wear out), an entirely fanciful conception of access and networks providing the answers to humanity's difficulties. Rifkin's revolution is like Einstein's i.e. just nonsense.
Power does not reside in mere networks; the idea that power devolves into horizontal structures is mere pluralism, a Jewish idea peddled by the likes of W. D. Rubinstein in "The Left, the Right and the Jews" p. 43. The world's resources are scarce therefore there will always be pyramid power relations - the new one will be to protect the biosphere thru new laws, not PC parochial police! The high school kids are not yet clever enough to see thru Rifkin's agenda of creeping privatization and control thru a financial elite who employ parochial PC police and democratic ideology to disempower the 99% thoroughly. The failure of parliaments and ecosystem collapse is
worsened thru Rifkin's ideology of networks, democracy and the pluralistic devolution of power. Ordinary people will only wake up when they find their local initiative simply don't work - or they will just die off instead.
How is "fee for service" medicine meant to help those employed in the non-profit economy? These latter will be unpaid slaves, forced to work for food. Young people sharing knowledge? Sharing BS too - but Rifkin provides no way to tell the difference.
100% renewable energy by 2040 is bunk, since
only new technology (e.g. B-H fusion) will produce the energy needed by heavily populated areas. Young people who become smarter than Rifkin will want to romper-stomp him thoroughly!
Yours faithfully
