The following is a recent Cambridge University lecture by Dr. Jo Marchant on the Antikythera Mechanism. It starts slow with the background details, and finishes with a big bang, the animation of the mechanism in operation. This includes the revealing of the visible planets as they would appear from Earth, including their retrograde motion. I had to laugh that she said that nobody could figure out what use this device could be put to beyond a certain point.
Not discussed in the video, .... you would be able to see the little baby Jupiter (as Space Jesus) sloshing around in the belly of the Virgin for 9 months and with the Moon at her feet (on 9/23/2017), and the presence of the 'wandering stars' in Leo. As I have proven with Stellarium, contrary to disproven claims of 4 other such alignments existing, there is no other alignment even close to this in precision over the last 2,000 years plus.
Also shown is high detail imaging, historical references hinting at such mechanisms, and the pointing to of its designer and maker, Posidonius of Rhodes. The dating, thanks to Jacques Cousteau, is between 60 and 70 BCE, meaning that such a device, or the output data that it produced, was easily available to a certain person supposedly writing on the nearby island of Patmos late in the next century.
Note the off-center staggering of the K1/K2 stacked gear to allow for the Moon's elliptical eccentricity:
Of course, projecting out ~2,000 years might require an ability to 'leap' a gear tooth here and there as required, but Revelation 12 doesn't call out a precise date either. In any case, the technology employed is staggering, and it demonstrates that all the understanding was present to call out such an alignment far into the future even if this exact design wasn't utilized for this purpose. In any case, the texts teased out of the corroded surfaces reveal that the mechanism was for a customer that was not a technical geek, but rather one that might have a 'religious' focus.
