Placing Iran in Context

The following is an Abby Martin interview with Dan Kovalik, human rights attorney and author of the book "The Plot to Attack Iran". It starts back with the CIA (Kermit Roosevelt) overthrow of democratically elected Mossadegh. Mossadegh came to power after the British were expelled, eliminating their profitable colonial control over Iran's oil assets.

With Roosevelt (the nephew of FDR), we see a common theme running till Trump. Namely, it does not matter what political parties are in power or the rhetoric, the motivations are financial and the power of empire. The USA taking over the mantle of global power from the collapse of Britain, colonialism superseded by neocolonialism.

As they discuss, the Iranian people, as most other Islamic peoples, have historically liked America and the American people. But, since the assumption of the Neocolonial mantle, the USA (government at least) has become the Great Satan of Islam, especially by those who have been programmatically radicalized. This radicalization started in the first part of the 20th century via the efforts Kaiser Wilhelm and his friend Max von Oppenheim, later continued by the Nazis during and after WWII, and transferred to the American dark 'Deep State'. And now the Great Orange Pumpkin, who promised that he wants no more insane wars, plays brinksmanship while coming under an impeachment trial.
