President-elect The Donald just had Mitt Romney (amid many others) pay him a visit, ostensibly to apply for a job as Secretary of State. What in the world Mitt Romney knows about affairs of state is beyond me, other than when he sat out the Vietnam War as a Mormon missionary in France, of all places.
But more than this, we have the specter of The Donald stating that he could make Romney "get down on his knees before him". Far be it from me to make the rude suggestion that this is a crude locker room allusion to some kind of act besides paying mere platonic obeisance via such traditional, old school, submission to the dominant Man (it was only until relatively recent times that one yet had to kiss the feet of the Pope). So I'll
let someone else do so. It appears that Google has censored the video clip, but I just saw it yesterday on my news feed.
Utah was supposed to be a difficult state for Trump, but it turned out to be no problem. It seems many Mormons hid their preferences from the pollsters.
Prurient considerations aside, how humiliating should this be for not only Mitt Romney, but Mormons in general, even if all we were doing was watching Romney come and pay his respects. After all, Mitt Romney is the virtual Mormon Pope, albeit not the official leader (president) of the cult. Romney almost gave as good as he got during the election cycle, and now they kiss and make up?
... “We discussed those areas and exchanged our views on those topics. A very thorough and in-depth discussion in the time we had and appreciate the chance to speak with the president-elect and look forward to the coming administration.”
Romney did not say whether the two discussed a possible cabinet position.
The 2012 GOP presidential nominee was a vocal critic of Trump's candidacy and blasted the businessman during a speech in March, accusing Trump of conning Americans.
"Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud," Romney said at the time. "His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University. He’s playing the American public for suckers: He gets a free ride to the White House and all we get is a lousy hat."
Trump's transition team has said that some of the president-elect’s meetings this weekend are to solicit advice, and not all of his guests at the Bedminster, N.J., club are under consideration for cabinet posts.
As Romney approached reporters on Saturday, Trump remained near the front door of the clubhouse, cupping his hands around his mouth and calling out, "It went great." ...

Who's the "sucker" now?
Of course, this is no reason for evangelicals, like Southern Baptists, to get all excited as they all have gotten their noses turned a dark shade of fudge brown. But this wont be all they have to look forward to as The Donald is going to make them all bend over and hold on tight to their ankles.
