Part 1 (refers to the Wikipedia excerpt in Part 2)

The following elaborates upon the previous post in discussing the intellectual relationship between Guénon and Evola that informs both Steve Bannon and the Russian Aleksander Dugin, and thus that informs and steers Agent Trump's curious actions. Trump is not merely trying to make Russia great again, but he and President Bannon are following a long intellectual agenda. Once distilled from all the seeming internal contradictions, the actual Hidden Hand agenda can easily be seen as 'traditionalist' monarchism. Evola claimed to be a Sicilian baron, but as well, at the center of his philosophy was a desire to return to a pure hierarchical caste system, as espoused by such as Plato. Thus a rejection of 'Modernism' and its accouterments such as Democracy. One can completely ignore the conflicting claims of esoteric Masonic associations or the dismissals of the same. It is the common and consistent core thread that matters.

Ironically, one might argue that Trump is playing Bannon, in that Trump might understand the real hidden agenda much better than Bannon, with the latter's blue-collar mindset. Contrary to Trump's long term rhetoric, his long term actions are that of an elitist. He is unhappy with being seen as a commoner and demands the unconditional respect and love that he believes he was born to. His populism is merely a cynical tool as it was for Julius Caesar. His latest twit rant against the highest echelons of the Justice Department, including his AG, Jeffery Beauregard Sessions, over the growing massive revelations of his and his family's corrupt financial connections to Russia demonstrate the danger the Republic is in. He and Bannon are not here to play by the rules of Hoyle. And now we see the intellectual affinities.

Similarly, and part of a piece are my discussions, on other threads, of the Trojan Horse nature of radical, Randian libertarianism, a golden shower gift from the monarchists of the Mont Pelerin Society and the Traditionalist Koch brothers.

The real goal is to re-impose an Absolute State that demolishes the Individualism that it pays lip service to. The sons of the last generation's Nazi fighters are made to happily support what their fathers fought against.

And also part of a piece is the decades long deployment of the weaponized evangelical movement to instill a love for Russia among the American brown shirts. Ignore the massive corruption, they have great Christian Family Values. Besides, the amount of personal wealth is a respective measure of how much God loves you. Ironic, though, is the global harmonization of the Mother Church with all its prior (fake) schisms, and the simultaneous promotion of secular Nationalism. Let's remember that Julius Caesar's populist dictatorship soon gave way to the 'global' (the world as they knew it) synthesis of the Imperium.

We also see the intellectual coherence in Ivana Trump's claim that Trump kept Mein Kampf next to his bed.

Reception
R. Guénon is commonly linked to the Traditionalist School[61] also called "perennialism". The Traditionalist School includes writers like Ananda Coomaraswamy, Julius Evola and F. Schuon, who were all influenced by Guénon. This association is criticized by R. Fabbri because Guénon himself dismissed the term of traditionalist because it implies in his view a kind of sentimental attachment to a tradition which, most of the time, has lost its metaphysical foundation.[62][63][better source needed]

Guénon was close to the circles of the far right Action francaise and among his close friends with ties to the Action Francaise were the far right anti-semitic monarchist Léon Daudet and the monarchist Jacques Bainville[64].[65][66] Daniel Lindenberg sees in Guénon a successor of the monarchist Joseph de Maistre[67]. Guénon has also at times criticized the so-called Judeo-Masonic complot and claimed that bolshevism is Jewish. He also accused Judaism to be one the main reasons of the Western deviation and of the modern mentality[68]. Guénon's second book was published by a right-wing publishing house associated with the Action Francaise, and he also wished for his first book to be published there.[69] Among Guénon's close collaborators were also George Valois[70], the founder of the fascist Faisceau party, and Pierre Winter (former member of the Faisceau party)[71].

René Guénon has been associated with right-wing and anti-democratic thought and he also influenced many writers who are on the far right of the political spectrum, [72] but like Nietzsche, Guénon also influenced many leftist or apolitical writers and artists. Julius Evola was Guénon's most important collaborator and strongly influenced by him[73][74]. ... However, Guénon consented to having extracts of his writings published in the fascist newspaper Regime fascista, a newspaper curated by Evola.[75][76] [77] According to Evola, Guénon belongs in essence to the culture of the Right and his work is a radical negation of democracy, socialism, and individualism.[76] Evola also wrote that Guénon's work has a radical hierarchical, aristocratic, anti-individualist, anti-social and anti-collectivist character and that Guénon's radical traditionalism is the same as Mussolini's ideal of the attainment of a permanent and universal reality.[78] Robert Horvath wrote that Guénon refused not only the principle of equality, democratism and liberalism, but also socialism. [79]

A well known if controversial definition by Bergier and Louis Pauwels defined Hitler as Guénon plus the 'Panzerdivisonen'.[80] [81] Some studies dismiss any intellectual connection between Guénon and these milieux.[82]. In a study based on the correspondences exchanged between Guénon and Evola and also some articles, P.-G. de Roux has pointed the harsh criticism of Guénon against Evola.[83] Carl Schmitt, the "crown jurist of the Nazi Third Reich", told scholar of comparative religion Mircea Eliade that he regarded René Guénon as “the most interesting man alive today”. [84] Guénon has influenced Schmitt in formulating his theory of the Absolute State and the forces that work against it.[85]

...
Guénon has remained on the reading lists of the New Right.[89][90][91] The work of Russian New Right author Aleksander Dugin is strongly influenced by René Guénon. Dugin repeatedly claimed Guénon as his teacher, and even suggested naming Rostov State University after Guénon.[92][93][94] Italian neo-fascist and convicted terrorist Vincenzo Vinciguerra quoted Guenon and Evola in justification of his assassinations and bombings.[95] ...

Richard, could you trace the steps that link the traditionalist views of Guenon and Evola to Libertarianism? I'm not sure why you refer to Mont Pelerin as unambiguously royalist, although no doubt it includes some such members. The Wikipedia section on history of Libertarianism doesn't even mention Guenon and Evola as influences.

I'm sorry Jerry. They are two different threads. So-called Traditionalists are opposed to such as Libertarianism, which on its surface appears to be an ultimate manifestation of Individualism. This is another example of controlled opposition. This is the same principle which has the elites, at the national level controlling the Republicans and Democrats. But now they have taken it a cynical step further, with such as Trump as their hero who mocks the prior divide and conquer scheme. Oh, you didn't like the corporate, globalist Reds and Blues? Well, here, try our Mr. Trump on for size.

Watch Trump's new WH Communications Director call Trump a hack politician. Is this the swamp calling the Beast of the Sea blue?

Mr. Scary Mucho is another Wall Street (Goldman Sachs) swamp hack, BTW, yet another blue collar boy literally turned golden. He's even a CFR and Davos player.

Like his new boss, Mr. Scary will say anything and have no compunction with contradicting himself.

I also learned on the 'fake' news that Mr. Scary used to post Tweets loving on the Clintons and Obama, and hating on The Donald. He delated all those, waiting to do so until just now joining the Trump administration. But his supports are so blindly wed to their Samson-esque hero that nothing matters to them - except what Dear Leader says.

Anthony Scaramucci deleted tweets in which he previously criticized Donald Trump hours after accepting his new job as White House communications director on Friday.

Scaramucci also previously expressed support for his boss's old rivals, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama—even donating money to their campaigns.

In December 2011, Scaramucci referred to the "Trump spectacle" in a tweet about Mitt Romney. Two months later, the new White House pick tweeted a National Journal article about Trump endorsing Newt Gingrich in the 2012 race: “Odd guy. So smart with no judgment.”

The deleted tweets were spotted by freelance journalist Josh Billinson, who Scaramucci briefly blocked. ...

http://www.thedailybeast.com/new-trump-hire-anthony-scaramucci-deletes-old-tweets-bashing-trump

Sean Spicer, who resigned as a result of Scary's appointment, was formerly the RNC's Spokesman and chief strategist. Agent Chaos and minions like Mr. Scary and President Bannon have an underlying mission to destroy the Republic, even more so than the administrative bureaucracy.

What is more symbolic of destroying the Republic that destroying its eponymous political party? Under the teasing banner of allowing Republican to enact their legislative agendas to roll back Czar (Caesar) Obama's dark imperial legacy, they have made themselves willing zombie sTrum Pets to whatever direction Trumpet farts into. He even golfs more than No Drama Obama and signs more imperial executive orders than Obama, but no matter.

The dark folly of this all is the clear evidence of the lack of intent not only Trump has in such as health care reform, but with such as McConnell and Ryan. They had almost 7 years to formulate a workable replacement legislation that could have been voted on in the first days of the Trump administration. Instead, Trump has taken dumps on their efforts at every turn, even mocking it all twice that a universal, single payer system was far superior. But WE can't have it because of the psychological blinkers of these stupid old white men. (I am white BTW - and oldish)

I state the above, also, in the context that Trump has been inquiring if he can pardon not only his family but himself, as well as exploring the means to undermine and destroy the Independent Council's investigation which is now known to be actively pursuing the vast international financial corruption of the Trump empire. Trump's seeming owner, Vladimir Putin has just declared that he may indeed be Russian President for Life.

As Trump himself has stated before, a pardon means you are guilty.

Some of Mr. Scary's globalist bio:

...
Scaramucci was born on January 6, 1964, on Long Island, New York, and had a middle-class upbringing. His father was a construction worker.[13]

... He earned a B.A. in Economics from Tufts University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.[18]

...

After graduating from law school, Scaramucci began his career at Goldman Sachs, where he worked from 1989 to 1996 and held positions in its Investment Banking, Equities, and Private Wealth Management divisions.[19][20] After being hired, fired, and rehired in a single year, Scaramucci left Goldman in 1996[21] to launch Oscar Capital Management with his colleague Andrew Boszhardt.[22] In 2001, Oscar Capital was sold to Neuberger Berman and, upon Neuberger Berman’s sale to Lehman Brothers in 2003, Scaramucci served as a managing director in the firm's Investment Management division.[19][23]

In 2005, Scaramucci founded SkyBridge Capital, a global alternative investment firm.[24]

Scaramucci was the chairman of the SkyBridge Alternatives “SALT” Conference, launched in 2009 and held in Las Vegas every spring.[25] In May 2014, SkyBridge licensed the rights to Wall Street Week, a financial television news program formerly hosted by Louis Rukeyser on PBS, installing Scaramucci as host. Broadcast rights were transferred to Fox Broadcasting Company in 2016.[26]

In 2011, Scaramucci received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award New York Award in the Financial Services category and[27] in 2016 was ranked #85 in Worth magazine's "Power 100: The 100 Most Powerful People in Global Finance."[28]

On January 17, 2017, SkyBridge announced a majority stake sale to RON Transatlantic EG and HNA Capital (U.S.) Holding, a Chinese conglomerate with close ties to China's Communist Party; with the announcement, Scaramucci stepped down from his co-management role and ended his affiliation with SkyBridge and SALT.[29][14] ...

Watch bootlicking at its finest depravity. 20 times, in one statement no less, Mr. Scary expresses his fawning Love for Trump and friends:

Could the 'friends' include some Russian oligarchs and banks?

CNN retraction and apology

On June 26, 2017, three network investigative journalists: Thomas Frank, Eric Lichtblau, and Lex Haris, resigned from CNN over a retracted Trump-Russia story that connected Scaramucci to a $10 billion Russian investment fund. The network apologized to Scaramucci and stated the online story did not meet their editorial standards. Scaramucci said the original story was not true, and accepted CNN's apology. CNN stated that the investigation found the story “wasn’t solid enough” for publication.[31][32]

Scaramucci called a reporter for the New Yorker and demanded to know who had leaked the news of a dinner meeting that he would be attending with the President. In the process, he leaked his entire heart out, forgetting to ask the reporter to go off-record.

https://www.newyorker.com/news/ryan-lizza/anthony-scaramucci-called-me-to-unload-about-white-house-leakers-reince-priebus-and-steve-bannon

“I fired one guy the other day. I have three to four people I’ll fire tomorrow. I’ll get to the person who leaked that to you. Reince Priebus—if you want to leak something—he’ll be asked to resign very shortly.” The issue, he said, was that he believed Priebus had been worried about the dinner because he hadn’t been invited. “Reince is a fucking paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac,” Scaramucci said. He channelled Priebus as he spoke: “ ‘Oh, Bill Shine is coming in. Let me leak the fucking thing and see if I can cock-block these people the way I cock-blocked Scaramucci for six months.’

.....

Scaramucci also told me that, unlike other senior officials, he had no interest in media attention. “I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own cock,” he said, speaking of Trump’s chief strategist. “I’m not trying to build my own brand off the fucking strength of the President. I’m here to serve the country.”

Caught in a bald-faced lie about his abrupt retraction of a tweet accusing Priebus of the leak, Scaramucci came up with a ridiculous self-justification and then added, “Let me tell you something about myself, ... I am a straight shooter.”

There is a back story between Scaramucci and Priebus. Scaramucci had planned on joining the administration at the beginning, but Priebus (and maybe Bannon) had blocked this from happening. But Scaramucci had already placed his hedge fund company on the market as a legally mandated divestment. Therefore, there seems to be some personal payback going on, but who knows if there is even more to all this chaos.

Behind all this non-stop surface chaos, the Bannonistas are quite pleased with the retro-progress they have been making on foreign affairs disruptions.

The following excerpted article is titled that the GOP is now in a state of shock. It is well known that the Bannonistas have wanted to destroy both the institutional neocons and the Paleo-Right, and so it is darkly humorous to see the Republicans, generally speaking, in such a state of bewilderment. What could they have really expected from electing such an entity?

Instead, the real key is the collusion between such as Trump and the Clintons, as witnessed by Hillary's epic fail. As witnessed by the fifth column inside the Republican party apparatus that diluted the primary field to let Trump's psychological Pied Piper antics work to magical effect.

The excerpt focuses on whether Bannon was really in danger, given Mucho Scary's comment about Bannon's auto-fellatio. It should be obvious that Bannon doesn't have the physique to pull this ... errr, suck this off. As such, we should dub this palace coup as the Night of the Short Cucks.

The excerpt also briefly discusses that Bannon has a 10-year relationship with General Kelly, another reason to believe that Bannon was never in danger. And let's not forget that Mucho Scary has a parallel rags to riches background as Bannon's.

For all the chaotic bluster, Trump has done nothing to help pass the 8-year-old Republican agenda. Instead, he has sabotaged it, including his mocking statements of how universal, single-payer system is far superior, but "we can't have it". We can't have it, because of doctrinaire ideology.

...
Rumors that Bannon’s position could be endangered flared in the week of the Scaramucci interview — and even more so after Priebus departed. However, Bannon has survived several previous periods when his demise was predicted.

One White House official noted to The Hill that Bannon's relationship with Kelly goes back a decade and that the chief strategist was instrumental in bringing the general into the administration in the first place.

Bannon is also believed to have been among those recommending Kelly for the chief of staff position.

While the New Yorker interview and its fallout transfixed much of the political world, some people close to Trump were unexpectedly sanguine about the furor.

Some senior people at the White House reacted to the interview with a figurative shrug of the shoulders, while other Trump allies saw the lack of a reprimand for Scaramucci as a sign of Priebus’s rapidly eroding standing.

In the immediate wake of the chief of staff’s departure, a Republican source with ties to the White House described Priebus as "a good man" but added that he “did not have the mandate or authority to be effective in that position."

One former aide to Trump’s 2016 campaign had predicted on Thursday evening that Priebus’s tenure as chief of staff was coming to a close.

“I think Reince has probably figured it out by now,” this source said with a laugh. “The music is about to stop and there is going to be one less chair.”

The same source also argued that the indignation about Scaramucci’s interview — and more generally about his brash style of communication — was overdone, and underestimated his effectiveness in dealing with the president.

“Every new generation of Trump’s team think they are going to change him,” the source said, arguing this had been true of former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and “to an extent” counselor Kellyanne Conway.

“What they need to do is gently steer him. I think Scaramucci can steer him.” ...

Have I mentioned the Georgetown connection in the prior posts? Yes, I did. The administration is chock full of Georgetown and Goldman Sachs barely-crypto-globalist agent provocateurs, masqueerading as swampy, populo-Nationalists.

What are the odds that (Jesuit) Fordham's Trump would select another Georgetown boy, just like ol' President Bannon?

Maybe there is an omission by Wikipedia, but I don't see any combat experience till he becomes a senior officer.

Early life and education
Kelly was born on May 11, 1950 in Boston, Massachusetts into an Irish Catholic family.[5][6] He grew up in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston.[6] Before he reached the age of 16, he hitchhiked to Washington State and rode the trains back, including a freight-hop from Seattle to Chicago.[6][7] He then served for one year in the United States Merchant Marine, where he says "my first time overseas was taking 10,000 tons of beer to Vietnam".[8][7]

In 1970, when his mother told him that his draft number was coming up, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps.[5][6][7] He was discharged from active duty as a sergeant in 1972, after serving in an infantry company with the 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.[5][6][7] He was commissioned on December 27, 1975[5] as a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps via Officer Candidates School.[2] In 1976, he graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston and, in 1984, he received a Master of Science degree in National Security Studies from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service.[5][9] ...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_F._Kelly
BTW, a member of the Kelly clan once informed me that the Kelly's were of ancient Irish noble origins. We thought the same of the Fitzgeralds but recently discovered from one of them (Paul), that the Fitzgeralds were originally of Norman extraction. Love, and/or other things, conquer all.

Another similarity between Bannon and Kelly is their time at the highest echelons of the Pentagon. Leon Panetta and Robert Gates are also SMOM Knights of Malta. In other words, modern day Knights Templar. The Templars became merged with the Knights Hospitaler and then became the Knights of Malta. Today the Jesuits occupy the old SMOM headquarters in Rome.

...
Kelly enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1970 and was discharged two years later. He was then commissioned as an officer in 1976. He served multiple tours of duty in Iraq and was a military aide to then-Defense Secretaries Robert Gates and Leon Panetta. ...

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/12/trump-john-kelly-for-dhs-232321

A Vietnam era veteran confirmed for me that Kelly's resume is that of a so-called 'political general', one with no essential combat experience. The in-country Iraq War business was mostly run by lower level ops people. And, if Kelly had been shooting lead in Vietnam, one can be sure that the resume would feature it, as opposed to delivering 10,000 tons of beer.

This, is part of the secret society that runs our country, not Republicans and Democrats. Not for a long time, if ever.

I wonder how 'Queen Scaramucci' knows how Steve Bannon sucks his man handle? Could it be from hooking up with Milo Yiannopoulos in front of Bannon, Milo's former two-time 'employer'?

Comedic half-truths aside, one should not be distracted from that Uber-Nationalist President Bannon terminally cuckolded Dead Breitbart, who was a radical Zionist, of which globalism is Zionism's central tenet, its ultimate goal.

When are these spinning goobers going to figure out they're metaphorical lambs on the spit? We know Queen Scaramucci likes to poke his roast in the front, but who cums in the rear? What kind of man, or queen rather, tells the world that he's in love with another man, The Donald, 17 times in one statement?

...
Splendid news, everyone! Anthony Scaramucci, Donald Trump’s adorable little biscuit, does not suck his own cock. Unfortunate news, everyone! Steve Bannon, the pockmarked grease stain that fell out Dead Breitbart’s anal canal and into the White House, apparently does suck his own cock, according to the Queen of Scaramucci.

All this news and more is available in Ryan Lizza’s report in The New Yorker, about what happened Wednesday night, AFTER Scaramucci and Trump and Sean Hannity had dinner, but BEFORE Scaramucci got on his Tweeter and started acting out Mean Girls and Heathers and Carrie in White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus’s general direction.

You see, Queen Scaramucci (who, assuming there is a God and Lorne Michaels can hear His voice, will be played on “Saturday Night Live” by Cecily Strong, doing a combo of Former Porn Stars and a yappy Pekingese demon) picked up his Obamaphone and called Lizza and he queened himself into a RAGE STROKE, from the sounds of it! ...

https://wonkette.com/620835/anthony-scaramucci-doesnt-suck-own-cock-like-steve-bannon-sucks-own-cock

And to keep on the thread topic, in the above light, one might want to obtain a copy of (Professor) Machtan's Hidden Hitler, and one can see the parallels to today's situation. While Hitler used his niece, Geli Raubal, and later Eva Braun as his wingmen covers, Trump has used his daughter and Mel for the same. Look at the utter contempt Mel has repeatedly shown for him. Now Queen Scaramucci can be alone with his lovers, unbridled from his bride, as is President Bannon. Queen Scaramucci's wife left just him because Queeny wanted to be with The Donald from Queens so bad. That's what the tweets and such say.

Trump and his cabal of Rough Riders know that they can get away with anything now, look what Donald did to the Boy Scouts for instance.

The following excerpted article is an excellent summary of Trump's behaviors which fully embody the Seven Deadly Sins. How fitting is this with my thesis that Trump is the character of the Beast of the Sea, from the Book of Revelation? I only take issue with the highlighted text below in that it does appear that Trump has at least some control over his acting character. The Bushs are/were somewhat similar chameleons as well, just not as dramatic.

...
Last week in Trumpland was a crazy disaster. The president thanked children in the Boy Scouts for votes they didn’t cast and told them about a “hot cocktail party.” He publicly attacked his attorney general for refusing to obstruct justice. Trump also publicly confirmed the existence of a covert CIA program on Twitter before tweeting out a new military policy without telling the Pentagon.

With all those earnest policy-driven lobbying efforts, it’s a complete shocker his health care bill somehow didn’t pass.

This should be of concern to both Republicans and Democrats. A President Marco Rubio or Mitt Romney would be taking full advantage of a Republican House and Senate to make sweeping change. President Trump is failing as president not because he’s a Republican but because of who he is — the walking embodiment of his Seven Deadly Sins that he cannot control. ...

Multiple sources within the Deep Church have informed me that a panic ensued upon their reading my post from yesterday about the irregular man handles in the White House. And its eerie similarity to a prior historical situation that the Deep Church would just as soon keep under the carpet. Therefore, they informed Gesu Agent King Kelly Jelly Belly that the first thing he should do upon assuming his new office was to fire Mr. Scary before he officially became an official official in the White House. I wonder how they will ensure that Mr. Scary will keep his mouth shut?

Half jokes aside, Agent Scary Mucho did his assigned task and eliminated both Spicer and Priebus, thus really making it like the Night of the Long Knives (alluded to by the Night of the Short Cucks). Agent Scary Mucho's excessive language, even by Trumpian standards then also facilitated the pretext to fire Scary, which made Agent King Kelly's task easy to justify. We find out that King Kelly is a Trumpista, even though not necessarily a true believer. All this mollified the Useful Idiots at not so Breitbart, who were screaming for Mr. Scary's head, no doubt because of Scary's Clinton and Obama affiliations.

Would that they were so observant about Agent Orange Leaks. But how are we to have a good apocalypse otherwise?

One of the men killed in the Night of the Long Knives was Ernst Rohm, who was indeed a homosexual, the official leader of the SA 'Brown Shirts'. Rohm had threatened to expose the irregular man handles of the closeted Nazi inner circle jerk. Guess they had no Milo to fill in the gaps.

Literary typology in the White House?

Scaramuccia (literally "little skirmisher"), also known as Scaramouche or Scaramouch, is a stock clown character of the Italian commedia dell'arte (comic theatrical arts). The role combined characteristics of the zanni (servant) and the Capitano (masked henchman). Usually attired in black Spanish dress and burlesquing a don, he was often beaten by Harlequin for his boasting and cowardice.

Below is an excerpted article, the focus of the above's show segment, a different take on Trump and Scaramucci thine mine:
...
Trump is the political version of a pickup artist, and Republicans — and America — went to bed with him convinced that he was something other than what he is. Trump inherited his fortune but describes himself as though he were a self-made man.

We did not elect Donald Trump; we elected the character he plays on television.
He has had a middling career in real estate and a poor one as a hotelier and casino operator but convinced people he is a titan of industry. He has never managed a large, complex corporate enterprise, but he did play an executive on a reality show. He presents himself as a confident ladies’ man but is so insecure that he invented an imaginary friend to lie to the New York press about his love life and is now married to a woman who is open and blasé about the fact that she married him for his money. He fixates on certain words (“negotiator”) and certain classes of words (mainly adjectives and adverbs, “bigly,” “major,” “world-class,” “top,” and superlatives), but he isn’t much of a negotiator, manager, or leader. He cannot negotiate a health-care deal among members of a party desperate for one, can’t manage his own factionalized and leak-ridden White House, and cannot lead a political movement that aspires to anything greater than the service of his own pathetic vanity.

He wants to be John Wayne, but what he is is “Woody Allen without the humor.” Peggy Noonan, to whom we owe that observation, has his number: He is soft, weak, whimpering, and petulant. He isn’t smart enough to do the job and isn’t man enough to own up to the fact. For all his gold-plated toilets, he is at heart that middling junior salesman watching Glengarry Glen Ross and thinking to himself: “That’s the man I want to be.” How many times do you imagine he has stood in front of a mirror trying to project like Alec Baldwin? Unfortunately for the president, it’s Baldwin who does the good imitation of Trump, not the other way around.

Hence the cartoon tough-guy act. Scaramucci’s star didn’t fade when he gave that batty and profane interview in which he reimagined Steve Bannon as a kind of autoerotic yogi. That’s Scaramucci’s best impersonation of the sort of man the president of these United States, God help us, aspires to be.

But he isn’t that guy. He isn’t Blake. He’s poor sad old Shelley Levene, who cannot close the deal, who spends his nights whining about the unfairness of it all.

So, listen up, Team Trump: “Put that coffee down. Coffee is for closers only.”

Got that?
