Independence Day (1996) has typological connections to a virus spreading across different parts of the world (shown through TV broadcasts) just prior to what symbolises the July 4th-based nuclear attack (albeit done by aliens instead of humans). The government "uses a (computer) virus against them in the same way they used a virus against our satellite links". There are a couple of scenes of different people taking medicine for some undisclosed illnesses, such as for a woman and a boy, in different scenes. Of course there is a military presence in the film, but it's certainly not emphasised in regards to the virus or illnesses. One strange thing the filmmakers of Independence Day did play on is some kind of static interference on TV screens - reminiscent of, say, a glitched power supply or corrupt data. And this is not the first time I've observed such digital effects in various movies. Lastly, I did manage to spot the all-seeing eye attached to to the head of a robot on a lab TV screen shown at one point during the first half of the movie.

Independence Day 2 (2016) is a tough one to decode. It starts out with a book, "History of luftwaffe", and then mentions people who died in world war 2. It then moves to a mock-up of a concentration camp that is symbolically controlled by the alien ship who were shown in part 1 to initiate the nuclear attack. The camp has only black people - though they could also represent the supervising military staff - and one of them has a tattoo of all the Chinese people he "stabbed in the back". It's around this time that more TV glitches are shown, referred to as "power surges". Both white guys: one is said to have been put in the camp by his mother, and another guy has only one person remaining in his family. The virus then appears in the form of a mist causing people to hold their heads. There are some hospital scenes and one (white) guy waking up out of a coma. The mist forms a black hole, hence represents the black death. The guys wearing the space suits are unaffected by the mist. Next China in particular (but with loose mentions of Asia-Pacific) is destroyed by an alien fire attack that resembles a tsunami more than any explosion, and it gets flooded, as does London - though London appears more fiery than watery. They switch to an underwater shipwreck looking for gold. "23" is referenced all over the place. One scene has 723, i.e. July 23, which is when I predict the nuclear attack will take place - and perhaps the flooding is contemporary with that besides storms and change in weather. Therefore, 2023 could be the end of the world as we know it - nevermind waiting for 2049!

Update: there is an isolation chamber where a death is acted out - similar to a gas chamber if not representing the effects of a super virus. They claim to be drilling to the earth's core in the middle of the ocean - but it actually resembles more a laser drilling the flat earth dome - letting in extra the water. There's mention of cold fusion. The elite are based atop Cheyenne Mountain in one scene. There's a school bus with "camp" written on it, and a boy has a t-shirt with "Camp X". This is in the context of low fuel, i.e. dwindling power supplies. I don't really understand the ending, but it has something to do with a tornado and sealing up the core (dome), so as to stop the natural disasters presumably. By then we have become a one world government with all nations united as one as per a previous scene in the movie.

Cloverfield (2008): preludes in New York with a mist and a guy leaving for Japan, but he doesn't feel well during his leaving party. Outside some towers are suddenly destroyed - controlled demolition style - and there's a spilt oil tanker; obviously, this is a reference to 911 being the precursor for what is to follow. Some "demon" with long tentacles is causing chaos in the city. People are running away and there is martial law, with soldiers and tanks all over the city. The demon is spawning smaller insect creatures. A group from the party are running through an NY subway, and as soon as some rats appear the larger than life insects then inflict wounds that appear exactly like the black death!

Your book looks like an interesting read - but I can see our time is very limited now, as I said to Richard. This martial law + up & coming nuclear attack is terrifying - and I don't even know how many of the Alex Jones' Infowars camp know the full lowdown of what we will face in the next 5 years. And the masses are increasingly becoming as scary as the elite. I'm now out of work (again!), I've got no friends or family, alone and reliant on the state - just as the elite intended. My one true love is stranded on the other side of a Jesuit province, so I'm hoping my old solicitor from 10 years ago is still healthy to carry out my deceased mother's last wish - that this woman is going to take care of me (and I will take care of her). I've already warned her about this impending doom and that we are going to have to survive in the jungle together. Besides that there's only my poor 6yo son growing up in this debased culture - and he will be 11 in 2023. Anyway, my survival instincts have already kicked in... I just sold my phone for 40 x £5 banknotes - and just living on organic salad and chicken. I haven't found the strength to cook any recipes for the past 6 months - all my 100 spices are now out of date and tons of condiments need to be thrown in the bin. I will soon cease to be a movie collector - and move onto collecting canned food in time for 2023! That extra large bag of dried beef in The Mist (2007) looked like the prize pedigree!

Independence Day 2 - I forgot to mention the all-seeing eye was spotted on a white board - but am sure it's in more places than that. The makers of my favourite game recently revealed a trailer where they are showing respect to the triangle posse, so I guess filmmakers and game makers are now under more pressure than ever to be a slave to the elite.

Cloverfield cont.: there's a strong emphasis on quarantine/radioactive (words and signs that can be observed in various places) with a scene in a hospital reached through white tents under the supervision of the military showing many plague-like victims - one bleeding from the eyes. The movie is filmed in amateur camcorder style, and in the hospital scene the camera is focused on the dust in the air. The camera tape, which is deemed to be government property, shows the last words of the victims saying they don't know why this has happened, mention bombings, and give a date of "May 23rd". It then cuts to the largest explosion in the film - reminiscent of a nuclear attack. Prior to that the monster that represents the virus was seen to launch his final attack from a very large smoke/dust cloud.

P.S. one scene has a "Mountain Dew" vending machine, and I still think that mountains plays a significant part in all this - possibly as a place to escape. Recently in London a large building went up called The Scalpel that reflects the all-seeing eye triangle across the horizon, and next door to the building are offices named Mount Everest.

Correction above (Cloverfield): strong emphasis on quarantine/radioactive hazardous

10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) - sequel to Cloverfield (see above): some guys are living in a bunker following a sudden "chemical/nuclear attack" from outside, and have a couple of years supply of food stockpiled since a conspiracist - also happens to be a psycho - thought of it and planned for such an event years ahead. There is mention of north korea as a correction to somebody mentioning south korea. They are playing jigsaw puzzles and watching movies like "Cannibal Airlines". There's a book called Surviving Doomsday where a woman learns how to make a gas mask - actually an entire containment suit. There is a joke about "why wait for the flood to build Noah's ark"? A woman comes to one of the bunker doors with plague symptoms on her face desperate to be let in. There's a joke about a cat having a deformed eye. There are pigs outside that appear to be victims of the plague also. There is emphasis on acid attacks causing skin burns/sores. Just prior to the attack (or coinciding with it) there are reports on the radio of power surges. When the woman escapes the bunker she is immediately faced with a military aircraft that is deliberately spraying the air coupled with a monster resembling the virus. The conspiracist had previously said that they will be carrying out the attack in a number of phases. As she drives away to Houston at the end of the movie to assist with other casualties there is severe weather, including lightning and thunder. There was also explosions and rumbling at various points in the movie.

There's 2 parts of the movie that have "713" and 2 scenes in the movie that have "723". This other book is also featured in the movie:
"11. "The Call of the Wild," by Jack London. London's story of a dog who lives the life of a pampered house pet until he gets a job pulling a sled was banned in Yugoslavia and Italy because of the author's socialist views. The book was also burned by the Nazis in 1933"

Finally, there is a letter sent to 10 Cloverfield Lane from Japan re: surviving doomsday.

Shutter Island (2010) certainly makes us realise the horrors of the Nazi concentration camps and what humans are capable of doing to each other. There's even a cannibalism element to it as well as storms, but there isn't really enough to link to any plague/virus/martial law - though there are rats near a rocky cave and a mist at the start of the movie, focus on dust in the air, and an insect described to be in somebody's brain, an explosion resembling a nuclear attack. But again, there's nothing that coherently links all these themes together, unless designed to be extremely vague/subliminal. So I think we'll have to remove this from the list as the themes are too disjointed - but I will check out 911 Hidden in Hollywood again sometime to see why this movie was featured.

From scanning through Wikipedia's description of the plot of Shutter Island, it seems to have a plot twist at the end designed to undermine the self-confidence of anyone who is questioning the consensus reality. The main protagonist, 'Teddy Daniels', experiences all sorts of bizarre conspiratorial behavior and strange events going on at a mental health institution. The big reveal is that it's all some combination of a fantasy and a put-on, designed to help 'Daniels' understand the nature of his own insanity.

Yeah, Shutter Island is a good film - in IMDB's top 20!

Stephen King's The Stand (1994) starts out with "This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but a whimper" then focus is shifted to a camp with barbed wire and people dying from a super flu virus - some of them quite suddenly. It then shifts to a TV screen with a show called "Blackout" whilst there is a power surge in the building. The first place the virus gets transported to (from the labs) is east Texas! Martial law is declared and the military start rounding up citizens door-to-door. On one soldier's clothes appears a word or anagram very similar to FEMA. Above a shop is the date 1191 whilst people discuss 4 aeroplanes flying overhead! This is like a series of TV movies, so will have more to add soon...

The doctors are angry that one man is surviving the flu - said they are just puppets, in so many words. They have flashed on the screen the date June 23 twice now in 2 different scenes for some reason. Before they had June 22, but only once.

I'm unable to find a coherent explanation/summary for the conspiracists' take on "Agenda 21", but it could be to do with the weather. If anyone can find further details let me know. It could include something about the virus or it might be about weakening social structures prior to 2023. However, the 2021 date is very specific, so I'm guessing weather.

The Stand continued: the plague is described as a "monster". A lot of actors have fake black face paint to emphasise it's more than a super-flu - with special attention drawn to the eyes. The news media deny there is any plague whilst bodies are in fact piling up, and radio stations for free speech are being shut down by the military. Staff in hospitals are all dead, and criminals are being let out of prison.

What's your opinion of Earth, Wind, and Fire's "Do you remember ... the 21st of September"? Marcilla Smith just reminded me about this song. The name of the band is rather apocalyptic itself, but the song lyrics seem rather bland otherwise. Nobody was talking about that date at the time the song came out.

No civil war yet, perhaps, but at least a skirmish occurred in Portland. "On June 30, 2018, during a Patriot Prayer march in Portland, OR, a major clash ensued when members of the group ANTIFA blocked a road and threw a mortar into the crowd of marchers and Proud Boys." Janet got an email notification of this from "the organic prepper". But as far as I can find, the only corporate or state media coverage was in RT.
