At about 1:00 in the tape above, Tarpley explains:

As you remember: in Byzantium, of course, they have this Caesaro- Papism, and the Emperor is a God, and the religion is a department of the government. Because the patriarch is always appointed, he's very much under the thumb of the Emperor. Now, here in Western Europe it's always been very different because here we have the Emperor and the Pope, or the king and the Pope, are different people, and they fight, and this is what has opened up in the Western mind the notion of separation of powers, and a kind of an anti totalitarian bias, because you're not dealing with one power center, you're dealing with two. And that makes all the difference in the world in terms of being able to think for yourself, because you're called upon to choose.
Tarpley's perception is that Venice was part of this Byzantine system. Tarpley goes on to blame all sorts of mischief on the Venetian oligarchy and their desire to retain an economically dominant position in European trade. He says that Edward III of England was a Venetian puppet who launched the 100 years war (1350-1450) to destroy medieval Europe. In 1509, most of Europe combined in an alliance to fight Venice. The Venetian oligarchs survived the onslaught, and according to Tarpley their response was to recruit Martin Luther to create the Reformation, thus once again engulfing Europe in war and diverting them from attending to Venetian treachery. Their next trick was to send a friar named Francesco Giorgi (or Zorzi) to become Henry VIII's "sex advisor", giving him permission to marry Anne Boleyn. Then, Paolo Sarpi attacked the jurisdiction of the Pope in a legal case in 1605 to become an early hero of the Enlightenment. He was seen as an advocate of separation of Church and State, but Tarpley believes this made Sarpi a Trojan horse for Venice.

Tarpley says that Sarpi was a mentor to Edwin Sandys, a founder of the Whig Party and the Virginia Company of London. Walsingham and Robert Cecil are also identified as Venetian envoys. Shakespeare is identified as a Catholic enemy of the Venetians.

Russia is part of the Eastern Orthodox (Byzantine) branch of (original) Rome, and the Russian people considered the Tsars as God. This was mentioned in the video that Loren posted on Russia.

And, of course, the last Tsar was a cousin of England's King George V, because all of these 'royal' people are one big (un)happy family (like competing frenemies?).

And now with the collapse of the USSR, Putin has raised the status of the Russian Church to something near what it was before, using traditionalist cultural tropes to mock the West, especially the degenerate USA. (Allegedly he has tapes of Russian prostitutes peeing on our President, but who knows? Otherwise, lots of 'real' rubles built the 'fake' Trump brand.)

If memory serves me correctly, Venice sponsored at least one of the Crusades, the one where they actually attacked Constantinople instead.

Flavio Barbiero, in his Secret Society of Moses, has the Constantine era schism between western Rome and eastern Byzantium as all being controlled opposition, including that the conquest of 'Rome' by the (Arian Christian) pagans was contrived as well. This is where Tarpley has the 'Roman' oligarchs transplant themselves to Venice.

Barbiero and Ralph Ellis (from his book Scota and others) separately have the pharaoh Aye as the hidden 'god' of the Israelites. Ellis has Aye (known as Gaythelos in the Scotichronicon) and his granddaughter princess bride (known to Scots as Scota) founding Scotland (in Ireland actually). But, we also know now that some of his loyalists, the 'Greek' Danaoi became the Israelite tribe of Dan, from whence the Nazarite Samson came from. The 'Greek' Danaoi where originally from Egypt and Ellis identifies the legendary Danuus as being Aye (before moving on to Ireland that is).

I have asserted that the formation of Israel was a contrived dialectic, or controlled opposition, just as Barbiero claims for western and eastern 'Rome'. Now, Tarpley mentions Edward III, and following from him we have the War of the Roses between his Red and White Plantagenet branches. More controlled opposition between frenemies?

Ellis identifies in another book that Jesse (of the Root of Jesse fame and father of King David) was actually a literal Egyptian pharaoh. He also derives the name 'caesar' from a name of Aye, as he also did for Gaythelos. All of the Caesars, at least up to Nero, were explicitly identified as Egyptian kings, 'pharaohs', in Egyptian temple art. As such, were they merely claiming their royal birthrights, from their related cousin frenemies?

Since the above seems to be just another Tarpley lecture on Venice, with more or less the same message, I'm joining it with this thread for context.
